By downloading Kodi media player, you can stream it to your Playstation4 without any problems.
This tutorial will show you how to stream media from your Playstation.
If you’re already using Kodi, then you’ll already know how to install and configure the media streamers on your PC, but we’re just going to cover the basics of how to get Kodi on your PS4.
Before we begin, let’s set up a simple script that will launch a new session for us and load our media streams.
First up, you need to download and install Kodi.
You can get the latest version here: http://download.kodi.org/downloads/kodi-17.3.0.exe If you already have Kodi installed on your machine, then all you need is to copy the .kodirc file to your home folder.
If not, then the script will install the script, but you’ll have to start it over.
Open up the script in a text editor.
Paste in the following command: media stream player start-kodi If you get a message like this: Kodi version 17.3 for Windows, please download the file here: https://downloads.kodakapedia.org/?id=downloads&cat=5 Then you’re good to go.
You’ll be prompted to accept the license agreement and accept the default settings, then restart the media player.
We’re going to use a different media stream on this next step.
If you have multiple media streams, and you want to load the first one first, you’ll need to add the script to the end of your media stream.
Copy the script below to the bottom of your Kodi file, and paste it into your Kodi directory.
Now that we’ve made our changes, we can start the media streaming.
Launch Kodi and select the media file you just added.
It should look like this.
Press F8 to open the fullscreen menu.
Press the gear icon to highlight the options menu.
Select ‘Add New’ from the dropdown menu.
Copy and paste the following into the text field, and press enter: kodi://stream_name=your-stream-name(if the name isn’t listed, enter the full name) press enter, then press F10, to continue.
Next, select your media file, then select the option that says ‘Save’.
Press enter to save your changes.
Now that we have our Kodi media stream installed, let us launch it.
Launch the media manager and select ‘Start Media Stream’ from on the top bar.
Press Enter to start your stream.
Press ‘Start’ to launch the stream.
If it asks you if you want the media to start immediately, click ‘Continue’ to skip the loading screen.
The script will start loading.
You may see a message similar to the following: Kodi Media Streamer started successfully.
Press ESC to exit.
You should now be able to stream your media to your console from your PC or your Playstation3, without any issues.
